  • Are cardboard coffins strong and durable?

    Yes, all of our cardboard coffins and caskets are extremely strong and durable. They are also weight tested by the FSA (previously FFMA) to 120kg, and independently tested up to 160kg. They are all constructed from premium grade, double walled cardboard.

  • Are cardboard coffins affordable?

    Our caskets are well within the affordable range for both funeral directors and families looking for a low-cost funeral option. The price can vary based on the design, customisation, and retailer, but they are often a more affordable option.

  • Can cardboard coffins be cremated?

    All of our cardboard coffins and caskets are ideal for cremation and they have been used in all types of crematoria across the country (with both manual and automatic loaders). They do not produce harmful emissions or byproducts during the cremation process.

  • WHAT ARE CARDBOARD COFFINS MADE FROM?

    Our cardboard coffins are caskets are made from premium grade, double walled recycled cardboard with the optional extra to add a eucalyptus plywood base.

    They also come with biodegradable cotton rope handles and optional name plates.

  • Can cardboard coffins be customised?

  • Is cardboard better for the environment?

    Yes, Parley Green coffins and caskets are made from 80% recycled materials and do not contain metals or toxic chemicals. They also cremate with approximately 90% less carbon emissions and contain 70% less wood fiber than traditional wood coffins.

  • How long does it take for a cardboard coffin to decompose?

    The decomposition time of a cardboard coffin can vary based on factors such as burial conditions, moisture levels, and temperature. On average, it can take several months to a few years for a cardboard coffin to fully break down in the soil.

    For reference, it can take 20+ years for a wooden coffin to decompose in similar conditions depending on the size, construction and and type of wood used.

  • How quickly can I have a cardboard coffin delivered?

    For orders placed before 2pm on any in-stock items, we aim to have these delivered the next working day.

    For bespoke designs, once we have discussed the design you have in mind, we will produce a visual and email this to you within 48 hours. We offer a free round of alterations on the first design and once these have come back to us, we will have final visuals to you within 24 hours. Once you’ve approved these, we’ll aim to print, manufacture and deliver the bespoke coffin to you within 3-5 working days.
